Actor Stephen Graham admits ‘The Irishman was my Champions League final’

From gritty TV drama The Virtues to Martin Scorsese’s starry gangster epic, this year has been very busy for british actor Stephen Graham.

He is 46 years old and discovered acting aged eight.

His breakthrough role was his Bafta-nominated performance as skinhead Combo in Shane Meadows’s This Is England

This year, he’s starred in The Virtues, Line of Duty, Rocketman and The Irishman.

In an interview with The Guardian, asked if he feels that 2019 was like a golden year for him, he answers: “It really does. Funny thing is, I haven’t done all those things this year. Some took two or three years to make but they all seemed to come out in a row.”

How was it, starring alongside De Niro and Pacino?

“I don’t know if it’s quite sunk in yet. It was my Champions League final.”
