Europe plans full border closure in virus battle

Leaders of European Union will be asked to ban ll non-essential travel throughout Europe’s Schengen free-travel zone as more countries close their borders to try to limit the spread of coronavirus.

The President of European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said she would ask leaders to implement the measures on Tuesday.

“The less travel, the more we can contain the virus,” she said, BBC reports.

The measures would be in place for at least 30 days.
