Houellebecq’s “Submission” to be adapted into film

The controversial novel by Michel Houellebecq will be adapted on a big screen by director Guillaume Nicloux.

The novel named ‘Submission’ imagined the coming to power in France of a president from a Muslim political party in 2022.

The actor Jean-Paul Rouve was chosen for the main role. The rest of the casting is underway, reports FranceInfo.

Soumission, a novel of anticipation, was released the same day as the attack on Charlie Hebdo, on January 7, 2015. It remained several weeks at the top of sales in France, Germany and Italy and has passed more than two million copies.
