Emerging artist Mimoza H has teamed up with Sebastien Schuller for her new single ‘Pretty Lies’.
The song is an ’80s alt-electro-pop song with a Europop vibe, similar to sounds and acts like Kraftwerk’s Model, Robyn’s Call Your Girlfriend and a fusion of New Order sound.
In a release statement, the singer said: “The song reflects my discontent about current social injustice and business entertainment. In writing the lyrics, I realized the extent of anger I hold inside about the wrongdoings, deceptions and lies. Overwhelmed with emotion, I needed to artistically express myself to nurture and ignite change on certain perceptions.”
“The narrative of the song compelled me to make a video using strong images and statements that depict my frustration with deceitful acts, twisted games and exploitations by the powers that be. The octopus scene is the pinnacle of the story that symbolizes both sides of the coin. The tentacles represent the deep-anchored illusion that upholds the system’s network as well as the intelligence, vision and insights to unravel truths that influence positive change.”
‘Pretty Lies’ is the first single from Mimoza H’s new EP Drift.
